The dust has now settled on this year’s World Series, as now the PDC stars will need to refocus for an action packed end to the season. September starts with a bang as on September 1st is the home nations qualifying for the International Darts Open in Germany, the European Tour event will then take place from the 2nd-4th September. This kicks off three European Tour events with; the European Darts Trophy and European Darts Grand Prix the following two weekends.
There is also a Pro Tour treble-header on the 20-22nd September, from Barnsley Metrodome as the players all scramble for places in the rankings. All eyes will be on Cardiff at the end of the month for the inaugural Champions League of Darts. In previous years this had been an internet based tournament, but will now be shown live on the BBC. The next two months players will be trying to cram as many ranking competitions in as they can, as this year’s World Championships sees record prize money on offer for the players. So failure to qualify would be a disaster.
September also sees a PDC Development Tour from the 3rd-4th and PDC Challenge Tour from 10th-11th. Both of these will be at the Robin Park Tennis centre at Wigan.
