Van Gerwen Breaks His Australia Duck

World number one Michael van Gerwen finally broke his duck in Australia, as the Dutchman won the Perth Masters. In the semi-final MvG would have to get by Peter Wright, Snakebite was the star of the show yesterday as he averaged 109 when beating Corey Cadby. Wright never hit the heights of yesterday, and with only 25% on his doubles was never going to trouble the world number one. Day 1 In Tokyo Roundup

Day one of the Tokyo Masters is complete, with all the PDC stars making it through the opening round. In fairness, none of the seeds had to get out of second gear, as the local talent failed to test them. World number one Michael van Gerwen was showing some signs of rust, following his holiday in Thailand after the Shanghai Masters.
