The Race For Blackpool

The race for this year’s World Matchplay will be settled this weekend, after the PDC Pro Tour at Barnsley. The Matchplay is made up of the top 16 in the world, and the top 16 in the Pro Tour order of merit. With only two events to play, Vincent van der Voort could still break into the top 16 in the world and claim a seeded spot. Van der Voort could still catch any of; Mensur Suljovic, Mervyn King, Simon Whitlock or Benito van de Pas, if he were to have a good weekend.

The Pro Tour order of Merit could also go down to the wire. Rowby-John Rodriguez currently sits in 16th place; the Austrian is £1000 head of the chasing pack. Kevin Painter, Robbie Green and World Youth Champion Max Hopp could all still gatecrash the part if they were to have a good weekend.
